Job Title: Cutter, Folder and Stitcher Operator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bindery Operator to join our printing and bindery team. The ideal candidate will operate cutter, folder and stitcher equipment to cut, collate, fold, stitch (staple), and trim printed materials such as magazines, catalogs, booklets, and brochures in a high-quality, timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, operate, and maintain cutter, folder and stitching equipment (e.g., Muller Martini, Stahl, Itoh, or similar).
• Read and interpret job tickets to determine production specifications.
• Load and set-up printed signatures into machine pockets and adjust feeders, stitchers and trimmers for accurate alignment and stitching.
• Monitor production runs to ensure accuracy in collation, folding, stitching, and trimming of materials.
• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on machines.
• Inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow safety protocols and report any equipment issues or safety hazards.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding production goals and job status.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1–3 years of experience operating, cutting folding and stitching bindery equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of paper types, ink behavior, and finishing standards.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or shift work as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with additional bindery equipment (creasers, collators, drill).
• Forklift certification or familiarity with material handling equipment.

Work Environment:

• Manufacturing/production floor with exposure to machinery noise.
• Requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
